Exceeding #GivingTuesday expectations.

Survivor Fitness helps cancer survivors regain their health and wellness through one-on-one personal training and nutritional support. As a nonprofit organization that relies on the generous giving of others to provide scholarships to participants, Survivor Fitness wanted to create a strategic and inspirational Giving Tuesday campaign that would jumpstart their year-end fundraising efforts.

Survivor Fitness has been participating in Giving Tuesday since 2019 to amplify its year-end fundraising efforts. Heading into the 2022 giving season, the leadership team at Survivor Fitness wanted to capitalize on the momentum they gained throughout the year and create a unique campaign that would help them reach their $7,500 goal. As a busy organization with numerous responsibilities, Survivor Fitness connected with Green Apple Strategy to support its fundraising efforts by designing a campaign theme and social media strategy for Giving Tuesday.

Green Apple Strategy has partnered with Survivor Fitness on a variety of marketing tactics over the years. When the opportunity to assist in their annual Giving Tuesday campaign arrived, the Green Apple team was excited. The first step was to develop the campaign theme and messaging. The team collaborated on ideas and developed a theme to capture the impact people could make by donating to Survivor Fitness: “Give Help Today. Give Hope Tomorrow.”

After finalizing the Giving Tuesday campaign messaging, Green Apple worked to design and develop all digital marketing assets to successfully launch the campaign. This included social media content, designed and branded graphics, and captivating video for use on social media platforms. The Green Apple team also worked collaboratively on a video shoot to record testimonials from Survivor Fitness participants to share throughout the campaign.

With all of the assets in hand, Survivor Fitness was ready to launch its Giving Tuesday campaign.

– Results –

Exceeding expectations to impact hundreds of lives.

Survivor Fitness reached the original $7,500 goal within hours of launching the campaign. This prompted their team to ambitiously increase their fundraising goal throughout the day.

At the end of the campaign, Survivor Fitness raised more than $20,000 through its Giving Tuesday campaign in just one day. Each year, the impact of Survivor Fitness’ Giving Tuesday campaign has grown—from supporting 300 training sessions for participants in 2019 to more than 750 training sessions in 2022.

Through this campaign, Survivor Fitness and Green Apple gained valuable insight about developing an effective digital fundraising campaign.
